“Hold the back page; after nearly nine months of toil and trouble The Music Consortium’s Vinyl Emporium is fast approaching a launch date. On Saturday 31st March 2012 at 1pm we will finally open our doors to reveal a new shopping experience to the music loving Merseyside Public. With performances from some very special guests on our small acoustic stage and the popping of champagne corks we would like to welcome you all to the grand opening. Besides being able to purchase vinyl old and new on both 12 and 7 inch formats, you can browse through our collection of rock memorabilia, buy tickets for a variety of shows across the city, you can grab a cup of coffee and a sticky bun, buy tickets for The Leeds Festival, as we are an official agent, see our amazing mural created and painted by John Biddle or just take in the relaxed atmosphere. Expecting the shop to be a tad busy, so get there early to get a good spot. All the team will be there to say hello”
The Music Consortium has been confirmed as an official agent for Leeds Festival Tickets by Festival Republic and will have weekend and day tickets available in our Vinyl Emporium (formally Hairy Records), 124 Bold Street from 11am in the morning. Anyone wanting to purchase tickets must bring appropriate ID in the form of a driving license or passport and be prepared to leave their address and telephone number. These security measures are in place to ensure the right people get hold of the tickets. Tickets must be paid for by cash or cheque and are limited to two tickets per person. Customers will then be issued with the standard voucher for the festival. These will be redeemed at the Vinyl Emporium when tickets are issued in July. Further information on terms and conditions can be found on the official festival website. www.leedsfestival.co.uk”

It’s Festival Season again, which means our Managing Director Spike will be jaunting off to the corners of various fields both British & Foreign. The first festival he does is Hove in Norway which opens to the public on 28th June. We’ve asked him to send back some photo’s. While he’s away work will start on the refurbishment of the shop and our own Bertie and Greg will be over at Chester Rocks rolling out our Festival Crewing company who will assist with band load ins and changeovers on the Main Stage for Iggy Pop and co. Don’t forget we’re getting rid of all the CD’s in the shop and we’re down to the last few hundred. Plenty of bargains to be had…
